I think your instincts on this are good. I believe that most of these sleep studies are most likely a scam. During my most recent sleep test I was wide awake all night yet they still claimed that I slept for 123 minutes and of course also claimed that I have sleep apnea. I thought you actually had to sleep during a sleep study. Even if I did sleep (which I didn't) the test is still bogus because I couldn't sleep as soundly as I normally do at home under the lab conditions therefore in my opinion the results would still be inconclusive at best.

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and had high hopes for the results of cpap use, these expectations were exceeded. Things smell better, food tastes better and the day is twice as long, that is unless I pull my mask off in the night,

I am a standard issue skeptic, but I wanted this to work and it did.
